I have seen the challenge of smoke in the cloth. Here my idea for a anti-smell suit bag.

Ozon (O3) is a gas which easily reacts with everything and this is what I want to use here, because u can eliminate smells with it. The problem is that it is not very healthy.
My idea is to make a suit bag out of plastics with a ozon "generator" at the bottom and a charcoal stripe at the top. The ozon generator could be an ionisator (they are producing ozno like crazy!) or a gas cylinder with ozon. The ozon is moving up and eliminates the smell in the cloths. Then it is reacting with the charcoil so that there will be no risk for health anymore.

Effective. You do not need to wash your jacket only cause of smoke.

I use Powerpoint everyday but I could not do that - so you're talented :) I like this idea because it's so straight forward. Anyway, since Ozon is not healthy, I am afraid it would be very difficult to make people use it. No matter whether it's risky or not at all. Aren't there any gases which have the same positive characteristic of reacting strongly with the smoke smell without being risky for the health?

this suit bag protects from outside smells or 'cleans' the cloth after exposure to bad smells? In any case the project could be the double-polar idea of ozon and charcoil as a separated designed piece of equipment that can be placed in all suitcases or closets. evita-r

it sounds effective. if it was a closet type, more easy to use for me.

You have a serious problem using ozone. It oxidizes everything including the plastic bag which will harden and crack in a few weeks. Ozone is also is a bleach and can cause colors to fade. Ozone is also poison...the USEPA has not determined a safe level of ozone implying that there may not be one. Finally there is a gas called chlorine dioxide CLO2 that is much safer, not so aggressive and easy to produce, that will do the job beautifully. CLO2 is also an oxidizer (not a chlorinateor) but it is much more selective (less reactive or aggressive) than ozone. Martin
